I have been a fan of the industry for years, but I’m still surprised that it is this low. Not only is the average salary for an analyst pretty low, but it’s also a pretty tough job to do if you don’t have a college degree. It’s not unusual for an industry analyst to spend 4-5 years in their field and still end up making less than 30,000. I really like how the job pays well and you get a lot of fun perks.

Not to mention that you also have to be good at programming and be extremely good at problem solving. The people who make that much are probably having problems with their own jobs. Also, the CTO position is almost certainly filled by a person who hates his job and is using his extra time for something else. That’s a lot of pressure.
